The LA Sevens / SVNS World Championships

In 2025 the Los Angeles Sevens will host the HSBC SVNS World Championship - the most exciting event coming to Los Angeles, and the only annual world class sporting event in Los Angeles leading up to the 2028 Olympic Games. 

The US leg of the international series has grown to become one of the most popular stops on the global circuit. The two-day event will take place at the Dignity Health Sports Park, the current home stadium for the LA Galaxy (MLS), as well as a future host venue for rugby sevens at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Featuring the world’s best rugby sevens teams, including the United States’ Olympic bronze medalists, the weekend event captures global attention with its exciting brand of play in front of passionate fans. Watching some of the quickest and most versatile athletes in the world. Spectators will be thrilled by the fast paced, high scoring games, as well as the electric atmosphere created by the avid fans.

Rugby takes center stage across the two days, with 64 games providing more than eight hours of action on each day. Each match of the tournament takes less than twenty minutes with fast and intense competition leading to a thrilling promotion/relegation battle to decide the teams for the 2025-26 series, and crowning two World Champions.

In addition to the competition on the field, the LA Sevens Festival will take place around the venue over the weekend, providing international music, food, culture and entertainment, adding to the unique experience for spectators.

HSBC SVNS is a global celebration of rugby sevens that delivers the ultimate festival of sport, music and entertainment. Expect electric on pitch action from the world’s very best rugby sevens stars, and a feel-good party atmosphere, from sunrise to sunset.

In 2025 the Los Angeles Sevens hosts the finale of the 2025 HSBC SVNS with the HSBC SVNS World Championships taking place at Dignity Health Sports Park where teams will battle for a place on the series next year and two world champions will be crowned.
